What exactly do you think people will be doing on a TV? Using CAD??! It's a fine resolution for movies, browsing, music etc.
Why the hell would I want to waste space and money on something that gives me the same resolution as a monitor half its size. This is about computer displays, not family room displays.

Coleman, how does that help us if we have V1.1? It doesn't ;(. What we need is a cracked V1.0.

Actually just read another post about 64-bit and 32-bit kernel and wondering if that is the root cause of my issue?
I will try the 32-bit when I get home later.
Incidentally, will I notice much difference between 64-bit and 32-bit?
Will update later :o)
Lol, welcome back. The only benefit to 64-bit is the ability to utilize ridiculous amounts of RAM. There are a couple minor processor benefits as well, but nothing worth noting for the the majority of purposes. HERE (http://lifehacker.com/5431284/the-lifehacker-guide-to-64+bit-vs-32+bit-operating-systems)is a good guide to the differences.

How many people were in line last year for the iPad? I remember I went last year and picked my iPad around noon and there wasn't really aline. I think I'll go around 4pm.

Another thing. I think we should always remember to put in the the source for images and photos that is uploaded and make sure we have permission to use those. Will keep us from getting into trouble later. :p

I have a PB Ti G4 (Model: M8592LL/A) with the original Airport card. I cant get this to connect to WPA networks. WEP wireless works fine.
When I have a network set as WPA the PowerBook sees the network and when I attempt to join it recognizes it as a "WPA Personal" network, however I cannot join the network at all.
Is there anything I can do for this? Do I have to buy an Airport Extreme card??

I am speaking specifically about TRON Legacy here, although I suppose this question would also apply to other movies that share a similar situation.
Here's what I did: I used MakeMKV to rip my Blu-ray of TRON Legacy to an MKV file, and then I used Handbrake to convert that MKV file into an M4V file formatted specifically for use on my iPad (1024 x whatever, etc.).
Here's the problem: TRON Legacy STARTS out as a 2.35:1 widescreen movie, but during various scenes in the movie, it SWITCHES to a 1.78:1 (16:9) widescreen format which is what was used in IMAX presentations. It switches back and forth between these two formats. But because the movie STARTS in 2.35:1, Handbrake wants to rip the entire movie in that format and so it's 2.35:1 all the way through -- the 1.78:1 scenes are being truncated at the top and bottom to fit that format. What I want to know is whether there are settings in Handbrake that will let me tell it, "Rip the movie so that it's 1024 pixels wide at all times, but vary the height as required by each particular scene."
Thanks for any help!

Have you tried testing location? Some locations are better than others for wireless. Perhaps the Mini is just in a bad location.
That's not the issue. The Mini holds its wireless connection just fine. You can see it on the networks and it can see other computers. It's not loosing its wireless connection.
But after a while, it can't access the internet. I don't think loosing the internet when it maintains its wireless connection is a location issue.
Besides, the Mini is used as a media centre so it has to be near the tv in the living room.

For performance and quality nothing beats a US Robotics external modem. There is a reason they a $300. The worse your phone line is the more reason not to get an internal. Internal modems just cant compete.
I odnt really know if USR offers a solution for your system. If not try multi-tech.

Try enableing the timezone in iCal, and set it to the same as your iPod (I would change both to somewhere nearer to my own...)
You CHAMPION! :D :D
Yeah, that fixed it. It's a shame the iPod doesn't have more time-zones. You'd think they'd account for Australia!

I dunno, I'm not sure I like apple having complete dominance. It doesn't bode well for future upgrading of products... iPod classic for example.
As is though the iPods are simply the best

Earlier this week, a report surfaced claiming that iOS 4.3.1 would be released with 1-2 weeks, and a follow-up report had that the release might address some battery life issues reported with iOS 4.3, although that has yet to be confirmed.
Apple indeed fixed the Battery performance issue from iOS 4.3, but just because, they added a new battery performance issue in iOS 4.3.1.

No. Not a good thing for iPod users.
As a fairly typical iPod owner, I fail to see why.
For those that currently use iTMS, the presence of other music providers supplying and actively marketing "iPod compatible" tracks will create competition that Apple currently don't have. This will drive prices down, or force Apple to add value to their own offerings. (For those that don't buy via iTMS, instead choosing to rip CDs or use P2P networks, it makes no difference either way).
For the broader market, increased availabilty of "iPod compatible" tracks from various suppliers can only enhance the iPods appeal. Clearly it would be preferable for Apple to licence their actual DRM to other suppliers, but they won't. This is a happy workaround.
Either way, I see this as a positive for iPod users. If you, personally, have an objection to the competition or prefer the integrated approach offered by Apple, keep on using iTMS. Simple.

I could be wrong but I believe at this moment the PS3's Blu-ray drive doesn't upscale DVD's to hi-def. The Sony and the Samsung Blu-ray players upscale DVD's and I was wondering if this would be possible with firmware updates. If it was possible it would really solidify my PS3 as the center of my AV equipment. Although, upscaling DVD's may have something to do with a hardware component rather than a firmware problem. Sorry if this was an obvious answer i was just curious.
