^ I don't about you, guys, but is there a way to make the address bar auto-hide when in FS mode? Logically, you don't wanna see anything but page content when in FS mode, no?
Not that I'm aware of currently, but you know that will be an extension as soon as it is released.

I won't get a chance to get this installed for a few days but one of the things I noticed about the new version of Safari was that if you dragged a picture from Safari onto your desktop or a folder that it would create a link rather than downloading the picture to that folder. Can anyone with DP2 confirm this is still the case?
Nope... that has been fixed !!!1 Now it works properly and you get to drag a picture!

All this fear that iPod and MAcs are in a down turn. Apple will blow them away real soon. They don't sleep on their Laurel unless they don't have a choice.
Wonder what will happen to the stock tomorrow?
Too bad im broke and could not buy any.

wireless ipod?
don't know if it means anything to me. bluetooth headphones/control? hell yeah, that could work.
I'd rather just get them to have the bigger videoscreen ipod finally work.

Pretty sure this is new. Not sure why they put it in Appearance preferences, though.

The general population never heard the term "App" until Apple released the iPhone.
Nor did the general population ever shop for Apps online until Apple built the App Store.
The abbreviation "App" used in conjunction with "store" to denote an online marketplace in which to buy applications is a unique combination that is not known in generic parlance.
Apple will win this.

So, how long till it comes to laptops? :D
And on top of that, its only going to be a viewer, right? I mean have they created any Blu-ray burners, yet?
I really don't want to buy a Macbook Pro until it has Merom, 802.11n, and blue-ray, cause I know those are all going to be standard in less than a year and I can't afford to have a crippled laptop for 3 yrs.
Hopefully it won't be too far, I've saved enough cash.
ur goin' to be waitin' a while... just get one now.

Anyone care to speculate on prices?
What's the price difference between the 20" ACD and the 23" one?

Not going to post the orders, because they were too much, but I paid:
$150 on Gap.com
$175 on American Eagle.Com
$100 on Sallys Beauty Supply.Com (what can I say, I am a metrosexual lol)
$300 on Eastbay.Com
$200 on Ebay, for some shades, and various other things
Aside from Sallys and Ebay, everything was clothes. The problem is, I have no room for them when they come. I have so many shoes, jeans, shirts, etc., I have to figure out what to do with them. Luckily they are split between winter and summer clothes, otherwised, Id really be f'd.

I am still really surprised that it seems as if nobody else has had the greyed-out toolbar in fullscreen Safari bug that I've got. Has anyone heard or read something that I haven't? I am much more looking forward to the next preview/beta build now, it suffices to say. ;)

Ah, those were the days.
A one page web-site, drooling capital venurists, a silly name like "BoxOfRox.com", and the day of your IPO your stock was $100 a share. Set for life I tell ya.
NOT NEAR AS BAD AS THE ROARING 20s when many IPOs were openly pyramid schemes -- pyramid scheme TODAYS HOUSING MARKET
Have you ever noticed that old timers LIKE pyramid schema !!!
I guess that is why DELL was once sooo popular

It's not a terribly big concern for everybody I'll admit but for those it is a concern to, this is a sale killer for all of these little GPS enabled electronics. Their safety is worth waay more to them than some piddly little iToy or other GPS enabled microdevice. Even normal cell phones and credit cards allow for too much risk.

Who wants to be touching a vertically standing screen all the time, that's tiring!
No chance. The ergonomics would be a disaster.
Who says the screen would be vertically standing? An adjustable desktop-style iMac would work just fine with iOS. No keyboard required.
I think its quite likely that well eventually see some sort of convergence between Mac OS X and iOS. Some more thoughts here: http://www.keithwilson.org.uk/technology/blog/Entries/2010/6/18_What_next_for_Mac_OS_X.html

There are more details here - http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/060719/sfw089.html?.v=60
At the end of the page is a breakdown in the sales figures.
Desktop sales are down 14% on last quarter, and 23% on a year ago, but laptop sales are up a whopping 60% on last quarter and 61% on a year ago.
Not surprising. They haven't released a replacement for the G5 tower, and people have been waiting for a faster laptop for 3+ years since they never had the G5 laptop.

I think this is pretty awesome. I know that currently all you have to do is drag the app to the trash but it always bothers me that it could leave leftover files in Library, etc., which is why I use AppCleaner. I think having this more streamlined and comprehensive way of removing apps would be a lot better.

I dont know if they did, but it sounds like they didn't. That's the difference here. Apple was granted the trademark.
Nope, they weren't. The trademark is in its opposition phase right now, it has not been granted yet. Microsoft has filed opposition to it.

Basically: "You Wait While I Render."
New one will apparently let you keep working while it renders in the background.
Which was understandable back in 2003 but with today's machines it was downright sad you had to 'wait while rendering'.

You have some good points here....but the basic arguement is how to survive in the future - How to grow the business....Itms doesn't make any money for Apple, the ipod is going to have too many similar players. So why not go for the lower end of the market - eg: like they did with the old "LC"s machines. People buy software but they don't want to shell out alot of money for hardware.
no worry, people's been saying that apple's been dying since like 10 years ago. and increasing the marketshare doesn't mean it's growing and not increasing the marketshare doesn't mean its future is doomed.
look at gateway. it just acquired eMachines and "doubled" its marketshare to 7%. apple is half that. and guess which company has been more profitable recently? which company is debt free? (hint: it's not gateway) and which company had to expand beyond just selling cheap PCs to continue its operation? (another hint: it's not apple.)
i see absolutely no economic reason why apple should bother selling cheap macs.
people who know what they want will pay for Macs. if they don't know what they want, they won't care if they got a Mac.

Intel is expected to drop the price in September/October by almost everyone (including most analysts and media outlets), it's extremely likely they will.
Yeah, that's why I said yet :) I'm guessing it'll be about a 10 - 25% drop.
