Well it is an equation as it is the same as as saying x=48/2(9+3)

Well the OP said it is an equation. Guys you are failing the reading questions also.

Now if we said it is like stated by dukebound85.

What will the value of X in order to obtain 48 on the right side of the equation, please take your time and move all the numbers to the left side of the equation.

    Have fun.

Months before every new product announcement someone says there will be a part delay. And they are always wrong and Apple delivers. This type of reporting is always crap.

This thread is hilarious. Take a calculator and enter the numbers the exact way they are in the OP and you'll only get one answer... On any calculator. If you think you're smarter then a calculator.. Well I have nothing to say to you. Just... Good luck to your ego.

    Answer is 288.

You can't do video or audio chat with Adium, and won't be able to for a year or two at least. :(

I'm just hoping for some official support sooner or later with iChat or the official standalone clients. :)

How is iChat actually? Ya know? Compared to MSN? I discussed it with someguy yesterday, ironically over MSN:p , and he said Adium is better... How is the GUI and also userfreindlinesses?:)

The iMac was the first to go to intel.

I'm holding off for the new MBP because from what I've seen, the current ones still have issues. It was Apple's first Mac to go to Intel, and although they've made some changes, it's still "first generation". I'm hoping the next revision will have more than just a processor upgrade.

Correction, your both wrong...they both went intel at the same time, January 12, 2006

    Another option:

they may include an instant-on iOS in addition to an intel OSX environment. Several other manufacturers have done something similar.

LG was first (before iPhone) to release smart phone with capacitive screen and UI that looks suspiciously close to iPhone. Here is Prada:

    http://www.itechnews.net/wp-content/uploads/2007/01/PRADA-Phone-LG-KE850-1.jpg

If Apple prevails in court. LG would be stupid not to sue Apple (and they would probably get more money considering iPhone volumes).

Do you honestly think that even strikes anything close to a sufficient resemblance to the iPhone UI?

No. Processors Are Soldered In MacBooks and MacBook Pros So No Upgrades Are Possible.

The way you do the upgrade is by selling your current model and buying the next one. It's called rolling over your Mac for the next one. Some of us here have done it numerous times. It's not hard to get a good price for your used Mac. By doing this at the beginning of every update, it only cost you a few hundred dollars to move up each time.

Would it be worth it rolling over my 17 in macbook pro, w/ a 2.16 core duo to a macbook pro w/ merom chip and other new attributes. Would there be a significant difference in speed , ect. that would make it worth it. , and if so, what would i do about my registered applecare protection plan?

I guess we can kiss any hope of a 4" OLED screen showing up in the iPhone goodbye.

    I DO see their point.

    http://www.tmobileniles.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/iphone4-vs-galaxy-s-head.jpg

    http://images.betanews.com/media/4716.jpg

Then the iPhone 4 came out and a half year later, Samsung introducted the Galaxy S II...

    http://www.androidlocation.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/SAMSUNG-GALAXY-SII-VS-IPHONE-4.jpg

Followed up with the Galaxy S II Mini...
    http://www-bgr-com.vimg.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/Samsung-Galaxy-S-Mini.jpg

    http://i.imgur.com/uZPB0.jpg

But I don't think companies should be able to copyright overall aesthetic choices unless the two products are basically identical looking and intended to be sold as cheap knockoffs.

And the Samsung phones are not cheap knock offs, they're actually probably the best andriod phones on the market.

So I think this lawsuit is ******** and hope Apple gets laughed out of court.

But then the acronym would iPP :D

True - but in order to make long-time Mac users feel like they're the "in-crowd", they could call it the "Wild iPP" (pronounced: "eep")!:D

All it would take for me to become seriously interested in an Apple-branded phone would be for it to have an easy way to sync iCal and Address Book with my Mac, although if they're actually making one I assume they'll put some nano-sized music storage on it to keep it in line with the iPods.

Apple's all over "ease-of-use" strategy implies that they could definitely be the first company to make something that's a PDA, phone, and music player in one that doesn't look like a prop from an old cyberpunk B-movie - and is priced for consumers rather than business users, of course.

So you want Apple to be forced by the government to reduce its manufacturing, tell its customers "sorry, no iPad for you" because the competition needs to catch up? How stupid is that?

Sadly, that's what happens in South Korea.
Which is the reason why the world has to put up with Samsung.

You may be right about the 160 GB HDD option and the X1800.

There is no way the MBP's will recieve resolution upgrades before Leopard. Santa Rosa MBP's will definiantly be bumped to 1680x1050 and 1920x1200. Tiger is resolution dependent, which means that a higher DPI would make it nearly impossible to see anything.Tiger also has a lot of controls to increase system level font sizes plus ZOOM so I don't think going higher res would be a problem with Tiger.

But please tell us more of what you know about resolution independence with Leopard and what new display technologies coming next year?At last, why 26th-30th? Why would Apple have a large event where it would be appropriate to release MBP's, and then instead announce 1-4 days after? I believe it might be a few days prior to Photokina, as the iMac was before the Paris Expo.;)Agreed.

It might be as soon as MWSF... remember how Apple released a half arsed PB update last October before unleashing the BOMB 3 months later?

All those who bought that last PB probably felt cheated, thank God I sold mine off in time

Well, first off? I don't think you have to be a socialist to agree that a better society can't be created completely on the profit motive? I've always held the belief that there's a constant need for charities and donations to good causes. Church groups and non-profit organizations provide much of the real assistance needed by people in need in the U.S. -- despite that happening in a non-socialist system. The less your government imposes taxes on you, the more disposable income you have to be able to freely make a choice to donate to the relief effort in Japan, or to "Habitat for Humanity", next time they build a house for someone in need, or ??

By contrast, a lot of our government mandated aid programs wind up causing people to develop a sense of entitlement. Obviously, they usually do a lot of good too -- but I question the efficiency. When charity is done at a local level (like someone's local church), the people involved in the program get to know the recipients personally. There's also the whole "guilt factor" involved, where some people are a little embarrassed to ask for a hand-out. They'll do it if they really need to, but it's also a motivator to do everything they can to try to better their situation so they're not stuck doing it perpetually. With federal govt. based programs, the money invisibly flows right into a checking account or onto a debit card - so it's "painless".

The 'fair' wages and high standard of living the US enjoyed in the past came in large part from exports, ie participation in the global market. The same global market, driven by capitalism, that now demands a reverse in your fortunes because you can no longer compete... the rest of us have no interest in buying US products if they're not competitive, and without our markets your businesses, even those as successful as Apple, wouldn't survive or benefit the US economy as much as they do.

Globalisation isn't a race to the bottom, it's resulting in a fairer distribution of the wealth around the world, driven by nothing more than the free market; it was never a God given right that the US should enjoy a higher standard of living than anyone else.

Ironically I say this as a socialist who believes a better society can't be entirely created from the profit motive - but socialism is apparantly a dirty word in your country too. You're trapped between a rock and a hard place I'd say.

It was introduced last Thursday along with the Core 2 Duo for desktop (Merom, Conroe, and Woodcrest).

    http://www.macrumors.com/pages/2006/07/20060727103453.shtml

I believe someone quote an Intel official saying consumors should see Core 2 Duo Mobile computers by late August.

    My [selfish?] logic:
Aug 7 + shipping in two weeks = late August

I just do not see any mention of it on Intel's site. Desktop Core 2 Duos were announced 27 July.

No one cares! Did you know your computer saves information about stuff you do???!!! Oh my! Now, your computer-phone saves stuff too! Exploitation!

They may as well put it on the worthless evening news...."Tonight @ 11, what could be killing you and your children...your iPhone (but not a droid)."

    Shut it, please.

Which is exactly what I said in my post.

I'm totallly confused as to why you're saying I was wrong here. The chip linked was Conroe, I said:

Exactly what was wrong with this again, apart from your not reading it correctly?

There is no current Mac that this chip can "drop into", apart from maybe a Mac ProYou can drop in Merom into the current socketed Yonah lines. That is what I was getting at.

I know that the link (http://www.microdirect.co.uk/ProductInfo.aspx?ProductID=14564&GroupID=1674) that was posted was to a Conroe chip though.
