What are the odds that Apple Stores will offer to upgrade the Yonah processors in the MacBooks, iMacs, and Minis to the Merom chips (for a fee, of course)?
I'm guessing they won't do this, but I thought I'd ask.

It's: "Do not buy iPhone. Go with Android." That's how I see it. Companies like Toyota will have no choice but to double their efforts in serving Android users.
They pushed me away, I'm Android on my phone, iPad 2 on my tablet. If I can't jailbreak my iPad 2 in the next week, HELLO ANDROID XOOM :-)

I'm in the 3GS camp too, so I won't lie and say I'm happy about this.
I'm rockin the day one 3gs right now, so I'm with you happy that at least hopefully we will be ableto get some new hardware this year

Wherever I have good internet connection, I have my Local storage ... I can buy music over the air and listen to it on my iPhone... and get it on my iPod Touch.... Don't see why it needs to get more spacy.
Alot of people will enjoy this but personally, I wanna OWN my storage, not subscribe to it... plus listening to music off a drive saves more battery then having your 3G/4G or WiFi pulling to get your music.
Oh and when you having ****** coverage, (back of a grocery store) what happens then to your cloud playlist??

There is just so many things wrong with storing all your own music in 'the cloud' that it boggles me there's still fools who think it's a great idea.
Enjoy paying larger data fees to access your own damn music while drinking that Kool-aid. Everyone involved in this scam (but you) will be laughing all the way to the bank.

You can already make a bootable USB thumb drive/DVD/external HD partition with Lion. You just have to use "Show Package Contents" to access the .dmg. Hopefully Apple will make a more user-friendly way of making a hard backup, perhaps through the installer itself.
Everything I heard said this image is not bootable nor usuable as a recovery media/installation media.

Bound to happen. History repeating itself. Android or other tablet OS which works out cheaper and runs on any available hardware will overtake iOS in the tablet market eventually.

I would say it's possible knowing the way Apple likes to be secretive that the future of iOS5 & OSX could actually have a phone announcement? With the cloud rumors and such I could see it being a here is what the new OS will do and here are the products that will help you do it. Just would seem weird in the world of technology that they would deviate from their announcement schedule. However, I do agree with the one poster that says 18 months to most people isn't a big deal over 15; it's the early adopters and tech heads that would get ticked.
Hoping the rumor is wrong wife's phone is in need of upgrade and I plan to give her the 4 and take the 5 once it is released. :)

No kidding. I wouldn't mind paying the fee every year if they'd just make MobileMe web-mail work worth a damn. SO slow...freezes up constantly. It's pretty much an every day thing, I have to refresh my browser or just close it completely and log back in, because a page I click on simply won't load.

Exactly. I don't know why everybody is all fired up about this. If you aren't a criminal, you have nothing to worry about. If you are, then you are probably bright enough to use a burn phone. :p
The issue is more being concerned about those in abusive relationships and the like. You definitely don't want a physically abusive spouse to have access to your location information.

Actually, given the supply constraints of just display parts (which impact all manufacturers), the popularity of the existing iPad 2 and the indications that Apple may start paying its suppliers more for parts to insure it can manufacture existing product, there is no reason for Apple to come out with an iPad 3 this year. So, I'm confused from reading the rules. You stated the villain wins once everyone is dead. How does a hero die? That's not clear to me in the rules.
Also, this:
The villain starts at level 16, and his stats depends on how many heroes there are (add 2 points to his HP and AP for each playing hero). The villain cannot level up whatsoever.

Yea the 4x512 does suck, there wasnt even an option to put 2x1 gigers.

But I figure that I will get a 4 giger kit, slap that in and revel in my 6 gigs.
A personal best.

Competition is good , however with that being said. It's any one's game from month to month depending on how well the o.s. is developed & how often an update comes out. I'm sure apple has a lot up it's sleeve and I'm not just saying that because I own the iPhone 4. I also own a G-2 from Google.

Ok in a nutshell here's why iDisk and Drop Box have speed differences.
iDisk:
You are creating a WebDAV tunnel to the storage server that must remain open and in sync with your Mac. You drop a file on the iDisk icon and it transfers that file to the server.
Drop Box
Drop Box sits on top of Amazon's S3 storage. What they've done is built up the front end so that when you drop a file on your Drop Box it caches the file locally and then syncs to the cloud "behind the scene". So when you open a file sitting in your Drop Box it feels like working on a local file because you "are" working on the local file. Any changes made from you or anyone the file has shared with will be sync'd in the background.
Most people don't understand the fundamental differences between iDisk and Drop Box. If Apple was to build a front end to iDisk that stored the file locally and then sync'd over WebDAV in the background they'd be able to offer the same performance.

The entire idea of restoring from a Time Machine backup has always been illogical to me.
If Time Machine backs up everything, then it backs up whatever problems you had that resulted in your need for restore.
Time Machine has limited real use, and its basically limited to accidentally deleting things.
IT's very logaical. You do realize that Time Machine gives you a choice to restore from a range of backups, so whichever backup was ok you can restore from that one and if you broke something and after that OS was unbootable usually it's enough to restore from a backup few hours older at worst few days.
