Some people have requested more info on the res. independence thingy. I know Tiger has a manual way of Fonts settings and zooming, but with a DPI even a bit over 120, Tiger would really look bad.
With resolution independence, you have the ability to scale anything up and down, thsu delivering evrything the size you want it, at a much higher resoultion, thus resulting in richer image and also the capability of showing 1080p on portables and viewing way larger pictures at full screen.;)
That's pretty much all I know, but I'm sure there will be much more stuff awaiting us...:D

So, what is Apple doing with a bunch of 7" touch screens, since Jobs said "7 inch tablets are dead on arrival"?
I also don't recall RIM ever giving a date before April 19th.
This is about production capacity rather than specific sizes of screen.

I wouldn't mind having Apple sell them (and I'm guessing they will to some degree), but we also have to think in terms of the market as is. If I can get a free phone through my provider every x years, I'm going to do that instead of buying outside the company (even if it is crap). If I can get an upgrade for between $50 and $300, I might consider it when I'm in the store renewing my plan. Apple can gain presence only by going through established channels; it's not to say that you won't be able to buy one in an Apple store, just that consumers who like to do comparison shopping when they get their phones might like to see an iPhone in a TMobile/Verizon/3rd party carrier store.

I wonder if Amazon just tried to rush this to beat Apple and Google.

Wasn't it exactly the same story with the iPod?
Exactly.
How are Rio, Creative, and all the other "iPod Killer" product manufacturers like Sony doing nowadays in the digital music player market? :p
Rio's out of business and Creative is now part of the "Made For iPod" accessory community? Walkman? what the H*LL is that?!
Take notes Palm. History repeats itself.

I will gladly wait a few more months if I get some awesome new features (For the love of all that is right, give me a new notification system).
I get far more excited not for the new OS announcements than the new hardware.

holy smokes these games are intimidating to play....
here I am thinking the basic werewolves games were hard lol
Weve never had a game like this before, so you shouldnt let this put you off.
if we explore is that our move and then the villain makes his? Or if we pick a door would this be a way to avoid the villains traps, since he may have put one in the room were in?

A few reasons why Android is beating iPhone:
1)Android has always been, and always will be, on tons of cell carriers. Apple? Not until their 4th "generation" of their phone (5 years I think) has Apple allowed other carriers other than AT&T. Oh, and right now it's still just ATT and Verizon. Thus millions of consumers have been able to buy the Android on their current/favorite cell carrier.
2)Android phones come from various manufacturers with different pricepoints and different designs. Apple is Apple. I'm not complaining, I'm just stating the fact that there are more choices again for potential Android customers at the phone level.
3)Although I love my 3GS, I've seen a few family members (who actually WANTED the iPhone but Verizon simply didn't have it so they got the Android) with Androids and I have to say it's pretty darn good.
4)AntennaGate...whether you believe it or not...was the talk of the world for several months in 2010...bad PR on many levels for Apple when the Android was making its debut. Apple's crappy response after response made Apple look like Scrooge. Apple gives away $0.89 "bumpers" to limited users for a limited time and that, in Apple's eyes, makes everything good. What a joke...and nobody was laughing.
5)iPhone 5...nobody knows when but best reports are Sep 2011 (5 months from now)...I think many people with an iPhone 3GS or non-smartphone who want a smartphone don't want to buy a last year's full-price iPhone 4 right now WHILE THEY MAY POSSIBLY HAVE TO CHOOSE a new phone/contract and are opting to try Android. My ATT contract expires in Sep this year and I have to say, I ain't waiting later than Thanksgiving for the iPhone 5...a)I want off ATT and b)There will be plenty of Androids out in Thanksgiving that will blow away my iPhone 3GS.
Again, overall I love my iPhone 3GS. I think the 4 has much better camera/video quality and Facetime but that's really it. Hopefully iPhone 5 will have a much sweeter camera, some major iOS enhancements (features), and larger storage for the phones (32GB min, 64GB) WHILE COSTING LESS.

Now you know why the Vatican is getting concerned.
Knowledge is now universal, on a massive scale, and the masters of spin are hard-pressed to jump into the fray.
I want to be around for the next 10 years, just to watch. :D

Wait let me get this right.
The preface of the argument is that apple hasn't said it having an April iOS event as yet like they normally do.
But invites for those event are sent out maybe a week in advance plus Easter is late in the month.
It'll be funny if they send out invites next friday.

what will become of the rockr?
Steve Jobs has stated that the ROKR was a great learning experience for Apple engineers. Apple probably licenses iTunes to Motorola for their phones, so could still exist even with an Apple competitor. Anything made by Apple will simply blow the ROKR and SLVR right out of the water. People can stick with them if they want, but they will be severely limited in comparison to what Apple makes. And if they aren't licensing iTunes to Moto right now, it's probably built into the contract that if they make their own branded phone, iTunes will become a licensed product.

Re-Read your Porsche history.
Your understanding of the Porsche / VW relationship is backwards. It is Porsche that owns a stake in VW, not the other way around.
Actually, they are merging, and that's because of the huge debt that Porsche got due to trying to take over Volkswagen. (BTW, the current CEO of Porsche AG is from Volkswagen, that's not generally how you do it after you've taken over another company, more like what happens when you've lost.)

otherwise...why would I buy an ip5?
You don't have to.
It doesn't sound like there's much there to tempt iPhone 4 owners but it should be a great update for those with the 3GS and 3G.
Of course, for iPhone 3G user, like me , iPhone 4s or 5 will be a big upgrade.
